John Fetterman's Fugue State

Timothy Birdnow

John Fetterman was worse than we have been told having wandered out into traffic in D.C.in a fugue state.

The man belongs in a hospital. I feel sorry for him.

Sadly, he's the sanest, most normal high level Democrat around. What does that say for the party?

The New Gestapo

Timothy Birdnow

The return of the Gestapo in Germany.

German Spy Agency Finds Way To Surveil Right-Wingers Even Harder

From the article:

The Verfassungschutz, or Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), claimed in the statement that Alternative for Deutschland (AfD) is a right-wing extremist party, paving the way for the government to double down on its surveillance of the organization’s activities, according to The New York Times. AfD came in second place in the February federal elections as its platform proved popular among voters tired of runaway immigration and ceding sovereignty to the European Union.

"The ethnicity and ancestry-based understanding of the people prevailing within the party is incompatible with the free democratic order,” the BfV said in the statement, according to a BBC translation.

Uh, a free socity does not criminalize what people think, dufuses. That is the very definition of a free society. Germany, on the other hand, has criminalized opposition to the Leftist vision of Germany and efforts to replace Germans with middle easterners and others.

Which is the hate-organization? Seems to me it's the new Gestapo here.

Volstead on Steroids

Timothy Birdnow

I heartily concur.

‘A Supply Problem, Not A Demand Problem’: Tucker Carlson Reveals What Changed His Mind About US Drug Policy

I always thought the American policy of going after users was stupid. It's like playing whack-a-mole, only you aren't even hitting the actual mole, but the guy who is standing next to the machine.

The whole point of narcotics laws is to HELP people, to avoid addiction and the criminality and health problems that come with it. It's become a kind of kill-joy approach. America has always been prone to moralizing and attempting to criminalize what someone thinks is a bad idea. Take Prohibition as one example.

That is not to say I favor legalization of narcotics; I don't. I've seen the destruction caused by them (even pot). But in my view the efforts should be made on the supply side, not the demand side. The customers are the ones we are trying to protect.

Of course the suppliers have the money and can corrupt the system, which is why we go after the customers.

FTA:

I was an unpaid fellow at a libertarian think tank in D.C. I thought I was a libertarian — sort of am libertarian in a lot of ways still. I really don’t want to bother other people,” Carlson said. "But I left after a drug policy conference that I went to that really kind of changed my thinking on the world.”

"At it, they explained the libertarian position on drug policy, which is kind of America’s position on drug policy, which is ‘It’s the drug addict’s fault. Like people get addicted to drugs. That’s their problem. That’s their fault.’ And it’s kind of the demand explanation for the drug epidemic. It’s like we have a lot of drugs because people want a lot of drugs in this country,” Carlson added. "It’s not Mexico’s or China’s fault or the drug dealer’s fault.”

In March, Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn and Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz urged the Department of Justice to restart drug interdiction efforts at U.S. airports and transportation facilities. In a letter to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, the two lawmakers called for the reinstatement of Drug Enforcement Administration searches, which were removed in 2024 under the Biden-Harris administration.

"Yeah, no, the desire for it,” Cella responded. "That’s what Mexico says. It’s like if you people didn’t want it so badly.”

"Exactly. I thought, you know, that makes sense. I mean, it’s kind of like one of those lines you hear. They’re like, yeah, that sounds right. Then you think of your own life and then you think of the people you know who got tragically fucked up or killed by drugs. Of course, I know a lot of them,” Carlson said. "You think, ‘No, actually,’ like some of them are — like your mom — a super-healthy person, obviously a distance runner, the healthiest person in America — distance runners. She has an injury, and some doctor gives her a drug and she becomes an addict.

Take Rush Limbaugh. Rush had back pain - and anyone who has had REAL back pain knows it ruins your life. So he was proscribed Oxycodone. He became addicted, and no doubt did doctor shop. So he was charged with a crime and had a hard time getting out of trouble. HE did nothing really wrong, just violated a law that was designed to help HIM in the first place but which sat in moral judgement of El Rushbo. Rush was not the porblem and resources should never have been wasted on him. He HAD a problem, but shouldn't have been treated like a criminal.

Who cares if someone uses drugs, even strong narcotics, provided they don't hurt anyone? Of course drug addicts DO tend to hurt people, and often turn to crime to get their fixes, so it's society's problem and not just their own. But the point is the addict is as much a victim as anyone. The pushers and importers are the real villains.

Laws should punish those who hurt others, not meddle in the lives of people who aren't doing anything injurious to others.

And we've had the "war on drugs" since the nineties with little in the way of results. Why? Because we're waging war on the wrong people. This is like going into land contested by your enemy in a war and killing the villagers there on the theory that they might join the enemy. Anyone remember My Lai in Vietnam? It was pretty much understood that massacring the people we came to protect was a bad idea.

Carlson continues:

"Carlson then shared Cella’s story, explaining how, as an insecure high school student, he tried drugs, which led him to become a needle-dependent heroin addict. Carlson described how Cella eventually attacked members of the Mexican Mafia with pepper spray, narrowly escaping death.

"That suggests to me that what we have is a supply problem, not a demand problem, like you’re in. You probably would have been happy with Bud Light or Coors Light or whatever,” Carlson said.

"Instead you wind up on heroin because you had access to this drug. So if you take 100 people and give them heroin every day for a month, like what percentage become junkies? All of them?” Carlson asked. "I was just thinking this at this drug policy conference, and I was like, ‘Actually, you’re all liars, probably getting paid by Purdue Pharma to lie.’ And it’s the Cato Institute. They’re definitely liars. I can say that now. But I didn’t understand it because this is the one topic I knew something about, having lived it."

That is correct. In economic terms we on the Right all advocate supply side economics; the idea that clearing the way for those who supply goods and services benefits the economy while imposing blocks, like taxes or regulations, strangled the economy. This is at odds with the Keynsians, who are demand-side conomists, believing it's all about demand from the market. Which works? Supply side has worked every time it'sbeen tried. Keynsiansim eventually strangles the market because the demand simply pushes up prices or leads to shortages if prices are artificially stifled. So if you translate that to the drug market you have the same result; demand side enforcement only leads to more of the drugs coming, making them more easily obtainable. Harassing the users does little to stop the trade because it's lucrative and people are going to use it. But if you dry up the supply you drive up the price and you make it hard to find. People will just pop a beer or maybe smoke some home-grown marijuana which isn't laced with anything and is weaker than what they would get from the cartels.

How did China deal with the opium epidemic they suffered in the 19th century? They burned all the poppy crops, went after dealers and producers, and took steps to find alternatives to sitting around in opium dens. The addicted generation died out and there is now no opium problem in China. (Lots of other problems, granted.) The point is they didn't try to go after every addicted Chinament to dry up demand; they went after supply.

And who is aiding and abetting that? Mexico, for one. China. Probably Russia as well. We let them aid and abet the importation of drugs because these countries pay our political leaders and enforcement officers. If you want to end the problem you would start arresting people who take such bribes. You would also go after the Cartels and squeeze the ports of entry. That's why Trump is putting the military on the border, and why he's squeezing them with tariffs now. Everyone wondered why we are going after Canada; they've been a port of entry for drugs for years. They haven't cared to fight it because it's screwing us, not them. If they fight it they have to deal with the drug lords and others; easier to just make it the problem of the U.S.

You don't destroy a country to save it and you don't destroy people to save them.

Only the Beginning

Timothy Birdnow

The media and the old guard Republicans (and the Democrats, of course) are telling us it's all over, Trump is finished and it's going to be a bloodbath in nthe next election. They claim his poll numbers are way down (event hough he's doing as good as any other President at this point). It's all negativity, gloom and doom.

Don't buy it.

The incomparable Victor Davis Hansen makes this very case.

Democrats Are Terrified Trump’s Policies Are Going to Work

He rightly points out the Trump revolution (a revolution even greater than the Reagan revolution) is just getting started. And every metric suggests spectacular success.

So the Democrats and their media allies and the Republican elites are desperately calling the game before they lose.

Do read the whole thing; as always VDH is brilliant and he nails it.

The Incredible Shrinking New York

Timothy Birdnow

As the state of New York swirls 'round the toilet bowl her wealthy and productive are fleeing to the sunny state of Florida.

125,000 New Yorkers Fled for Florida the Last 5 Years, Taking $14 Billion With Them

New York lost all that money because the ruling Democrats drove them away.

Sadly many are probably going to vote Democrat in Florida; they haven't given up on their party, but merely think it's the NEW YORK Democrats who didn't do it right.

The illusions of Man are unerasable. I am mindful of Plato's Cave, where people tied up in a cave watching a puppet show think that is reality, and kill the dude who got out of the cave and reported it was a lie. That is how most people think.

And even if you flee the state New York continues to tax you, in what is clearly a grossly unconstitutional law. New York is run like the mafia; once in you never get out.
ll
Anyway, the rich are fleeing and the state is getting poorer. But I doubt they will learn their lesson.

Rudy Giulliani showed how it's done. But they tried to throw Guilli in prison, so apparently they didn't learn a blessed thing from him.

You can only be liberal for so long before reality catches up with you. As Margaret Thatcher said, socialism only works until you run out of other people's money.

Illinois Nullifies Federal Immigration Law

Timothy Birdnow

Illinois is attempting to tamper with E-Verify, the Federal program designed to weed out illegal aliens from employment, and Pam Bondi and the DOJ aren't taking it lying down. Bondi is suing the state for tampering with Federal immigration law, which lies entirely in the province of the Federal and not state government.

The "Right to Privacy in the Workplace Act" was passed by the state legislature and signed into law by J.B. "No Neck" Pritzker, the Bolshevik governor and heir to the Hyatt fortune. It essentially tips off illegal workers in advance so they will not be at work when ICE comes for an inspection.

The law is at odds with Federal immigration laws, and employers are in a catch-22; they face fines from the state if they don't give advanced notice and fines from the Feds if they do.

Illinois had tried to ban E-Verify outright but failed in the courts; the law they passed violated the Supremacy Clause in the Constitution.

At any rate, J.B. Pritzker and the sponsors of this bill need to be made examples of by the Feds. The Democrats would send an army of lawyers and accountants to Springfield to start digging. (Remember when over 600 lawyes descended on the sleepy little town of Wasila, Alaska, after Sarah Palin got the nod to be John McCain's veep?) I have little doubt Pritzker at least has some skeletons in his closet. Time we drag them out.

It's time we dragged all the skeletons out. The Ruling Class has gotten away with subverting America for years while enricching themselves. I don't know what Pam Bondi is doing with the the Jeffrey Epstein files we were promised, for example. Even when we win we cannot seem to drag this stuff into the daylight.

At any rate any criminal violation by any of the Illinois government officials needs to be met with swift and terrible punishment. We've got to stop pussyfooting around.

When the South seceded from the Union Illinois joined the North in waging war against state nullification. Now it is leading the secessionists in nullifying laws they don't like. The hypocrisy is astounding.

And Illinois is engaging in a reinstitution of slavery by importing wage slaves, people who work for less and have no options but to come here and slave away. Illinois appears perfectly happy with this. And there are real slaves involved too as human traffickers bring in young girls to walk the streets against their will and other such things. But Illinois gets cheap labor and keeps the Democratic Party in eternal power there.

Abraham Lincoln waged war against such.

No Right to Feed from the Trough

Timothy Birdnow

A Democrat judge does it again.

Obama judge permanently blocks Trump order against Perkins Coie law firm in scathing ruling that quotes Shakespeare

From the Blaze:

U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell said Friday that the order violated three separate amendments to the Constitution and ordered that it be permanently blocked.

'Eliminating lawyers as the guardians of the rule of law removes a major impediment to the path to more power.'

Perkins Coie is known for its involvement in the Trump dossier debacle, where dubious documents were collected in an attempt to substantiate accusations against President Donald Trump that he was colluding with the Russian government.

Howell said in the 102-page ruling that Trump's order against the firm violated the First, Fifth, and Sixth amendments.

"Using the powers of the federal government to target lawyers for their representation of clients and avowed progressive employment policies in an overt attempt to suppress and punish certain viewpoints, however, is contrary to the Constitution, which requires that the government respond to dissenting or unpopular speech or ideas with 'tolerance, not coercion,'" she wrote.

She compared Trump to a character from Shakespeare's play Henry VI, who famously says, "The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers," and explained that the order was in the same direction as totalitarianism.

"Eliminating lawyers as the guardians of the rule of law removes a major impediment to the path to more power," she explained.

This woman is extaordinarily dishonest; lawyers as the "guardians" as she calls them (and that's not what they are and never were) is not what Trump is doing in the slightest. What Trump is doing is removing taxpayer funding from partisan lawyers who are using our tax dollars to promote their own Progressive genda against the will of the People. The Consitution does not require federal funding of squat; there is no mandate that gvovernment pay money to groups of people who use it to promote societal evolution or a partisan viewpoint. Trump cannot stop Perkins Cole from political activism - that WOULD be unconstitutional. But he sure as hell doesn't have a duty to fund them by giving them sweetheart contracts.

In liberal land if you are not for thm, not actively helping them, you are defacto waging war on them and they will twist the constitution into a pretzel, making it a document that does not restrict governmental power but imposes responsibilities on both government and the individual. That was never the intent of the framers; they wanted a society where you could just be left alone and mind your own affairs without molestation. The Left has turned that into a government intimately involved in daily affairs, a government that meddles incessantly. This was Benito Mussolini's definition of totalitarian as he saw Fascsm; society being involved in every aspect of life. The American Left has made it so here, and this is proof of that thinking. By not actively funding our internal enemies the American People are somehow violating the conwtitional rights of law firms.

Which is odd; the Left never met a corporation it didn't hate, and it fights against th concept of corporations being "people" with any sort of enforceable rights. Yet here we are with them arguing for the rights of a corporation. This didn't target specific lawyers in the firm but the firm itself.

If this is unconstitutional, then it is unconstitutional for the U.S. govenrment to not do business with ANY corporation. So all boycottts or sanctions against any corporation from an enemy country is illegal. This means that the boycott of South African companies during the embargo back during the days of Apartheid were grossly illegal. This means the whole Civil Rights act is illegal as it unfairly targets companies that do not follow the rules set down.

By the way, Shakespeare was largely right. Lawyers are in fact a parasitic force that sucks the life out of nations because they twist and squirm to make laws say what they do not, or to make what happened appear differently. We have to have them, just as we have to have police officers (and many cops are good but many are abusive). But we are under no obligation to enrich some lawyers with taxper money. If they want to work for the Progressives that is their right, but not on our dime. Shakespeare would have had a field day with this.

There is no right to feed from the federal trough.

I would say she'll get spanked by a higher court, but with the way things are you never know. SCOTUS may well side with this judge when Roberts and Barrett join the Liberals on the Court. You never can tell.

Biden Let in Terrorists

Timothy Birdnow

No doubt the tip of the iceberg.

Trump Reveals Biden Gave Asylum To Nearly 600 Migrants With Terrorism Ties

Why would he do that? Because his handlers wanted him to, and they wanted to do that because they are devotees of Francis Fox Piven and Richard Cloward, the two radical 66-'s profs who together invented the "Cloward Piven Strategy" which is essentially anarchy, to sow chaos and turmoil and overload the systems so they all collapse and the glorious revolution can then come to fruition in which America is rebuilt as a socialist state and nobody owns anything and are happy.

If you believe in Cloward Piven you see letting terrorists into the country as a good thing; they will break down the systems for you.e

The Left was nearly at the point of total victory when Trump was blessed with a miracle. This was a part of the strategy. In fact, many leftists bemoaned the fact the U.S. didn't have terrorism like other countries; why should we enjoy peace if others do not? That is typical leftist thinking. So they no doubt were hoping for a rash of terrorism.

If you want to understand the Left read Flannery O'Connor's Good Country People. Hulga was your typical over-educated white woman liberal. She despised the "good country people" of her youth because she thought she was superior to them and was full of condescension and anger at their not anointing her because she was obviously so much smarter than they. She wished them all ill. She wished the young traveling Bible salesman ill too which is why she seduced him, not realizing it was she who was being played.

The Left does not love America; they hate her and want her gone. Do not be deceived.

DOJ to Investigate Vote Fraud

Timothy Birdnow

High time, isn't it!

DOJ Investigates Noncitizen Voting and Voter Fraud Crimes In Multiple States and Electionsmu

I suspect without vote fraud the Democrats would have been in the minority for decades now. It's only their massive fraud that has kept them on the razor's edge with the GOP. Republicans have to win by well over 5% in any race to squeek out a victory.

This could be Yuuuugggeee. Pam Bondi needs to let all the information out to the public too.

Checking Trans Kids for Mental Problems

Timothy Birdnow

Tthe tide is turning on the transgender nonsense. The United Kingdom's National Health Service is going to start testing transgendered children for autism and other disorders rather than just push for transitioning.

FTA:

According to a report by Dr. Hilary Cass, children with "gender-related distress” should receive a holistic assessment by medical practitioners instead of being automatically subjected to gender reassignment treatment.

Baroness Cass’ report blew the lid off the Tavistock’s Gender Identity Development Service, which paid little to no attention to the children’s mental health in favor of transgender medical procedures.

"When conducting the review, I found that in gender medicine those pillars are built on shaky foundations,” Dr. Cass said.

She also warned that "gender care for children and young people had moved from a ‘watchful waiting’ approach to treatment with puberty blockers.”

Subsequently, the NHS has issued a new directive requiring hospitals to screen children for other mental and developmental conditions, such as ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities, to rule out that they were the cause of gender stress. Physicians will also evaluate each child’s mental health, their family relationship history, and sexual development, including whether they are attracted to the same sex.

"Given the high prevalence of neurodiversity identified within this population, all those attending the NHS Children and Young People’s Gender Service should receive screening for neurodevelopmental conditions,” the report, seen by the Telegraph, stated.

Additionally, the NHS acknowledged the "reluctance to explore or address” mental health conditions since gender dysphoria has yet to be classified as such.

So they've been pushing children into switching sides without ANY medical reason to believe the kids actually are trans (they're not, just confused and mentally disordered).

But if this is happening in BRITAIN it means the trans craze has pretty much passed it's zenith and is on a downward trajectory.

Good news.

About that Power Outage in Europe

Timothy Birdnow

This is truly bananas: all of Europe appears to have been seconds away a continent-wide blackout.

The grid frequency across continental Europe plunged to 49.85 hertz — just a hair above the red-line collapse threshold.

The normal operating frequency for Europe’s power grid… https://t.co/5qyZLpammm pic.twitter.com/83eCl5B1Ux
— Michael Shellenberger (@shellenberger) April 28, 2025

What that suggests is the over-reliance on renewables saw a big drop across the continent and the whole rotten system almost collapsed.

Renewables don't risk blackouts, said the media. But they did and they do. The physics are simple. And now, as blackouts in Spain strand people in elevators, jam traffic, and ground flights, it's clear that too little "inertia" due to excess solar resulted in system collapse. pic.twitter.com/FbuX1oSVcs

David Horowitz RIP

Timothy Birdnow

David Horowitz, the great conservative commentator, has passed away at age 86.

Horowitz was a red diaper baby who cut his teeth in the new left movement of the '60's. Once as prominent on the radical Left Horowitz was long-time editor of the socialist rag Ramparts and was a college professor. But he became disenchanted with the Communists and eventually turned against them, becoming one of their most dangerous foes.

Horowitz always understood exactly how they operated and knew all their tricks. He was a constant critic of the GOP which always fell into the traps laid by the Left. He also ran the website Discover the Networks which told you about every dirty deal and connection between government, NGO's, universities, and big corporations.

Horowitz kept the conservative movement alive even if he never gained the kind of prominence William Buckley or Pat Buchanan enjoyed.

He will be sorely missed.

Proof of Media Bias

Timothy Birdnow

Who ever doubted it would be so?

TV News Assaults 2nd Trump Admin with 92% Negative Coverage

It's interesting to compare him to Joe Biden. According to the Pew Research Center after Biden's first hundred days he enjoyed a much, much better story favorability:

"Overall, 32% of stories about the Biden administration had a negative assessment, while 23% had a positive one and 45% were neither positive nor negative/"

What can we say? We've long known the news media is biased and lies. But it's nice to have rock-solid proof of that fact.

The Real Rulers of America

Timothy Birdnow

This is what Trump is up against.

FTA:

"New evidence shows that a significant number of federal government employees are openly resisting President Donald Trump’s administration, according to a recently released survey and undercover video footage.

A survey conducted by the Napolitan Institute and pollster Scott Rasmussen, released last week, found that only 16% of government managers who voted for Kamala Harris in the last election would be willing to follow a legal order from President Trump if they personally disagreed with it.

Meanwhile, 76% of federal government managers who voted for Harris stated they would actively resist the Trump administration’s policies.

Meanwhile Project Vertias ran a sting which showed how deep the problem is embedded in the Bureaucracy:

"In videos released on April 1, Project Veritas captured State Department foreign service officer Anthony Abate describing how DEI initiatives continued under different names despite executive orders targeting such programs.

"They like canceled DEI stuff, but people just like did it and called it something else,” Abate said, noting that terms like "multicultural activities” and "team building” were used as substitutes.

Renato Braghiere, a climate research scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, told an undercover journalist that proposals are being reworded to avoid terms disfavored by the administration.

These people plan to just wait Trump out, sabotage him where they can, and simply take back their rightful positions are the secret rulers of America as soon as the Trump storm passes.

We need to change the laws to allow the President to fire anyone who is part of the federal government with or without cause; the current laws make it impossible to remove these jackalls.

This is why, despite Republicans holding the Presidency more than Democrats since 1968, the government has grown increasingly leftist. The President isn't in charge of his own department - the bureaucrats are.
